<\/a>THE INFECTIOUS DISEASE (INFECTED AREAS) RULES<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

G.N. No. 178 of 1935\n<\/p>\n

    1.<\/b> These Rules may be cited as the Infectious Disease (Infected Areas) Rules.\n<\/p>\n

    2.<\/b> Any person entering or leaving an infected area may be required to stop and submit himself for any inquiries or inspection by a medical officer or any person authorised by him in writing in that behalf which are necessary to prevent and check the spread of infectious disease.\n<\/p>\n

    3.<\/b> A medical officer or anyone duly authorised by him as aforesaid may establish examination posts on any road in or leading to an infected area and may refuse to permit any person to pass an examination post unless and until he has submitted to inspection and has satisfactorily answered any questions that may properly be put to him for the purpose of obtaining information to assist in preventing and checking the spread of infectious disease.\n<\/p>\n

    4.<\/b> A medical officer or anyone duly authorised by him as aforesaid may require any vehicle entering or leaving an infected area to stop and may call upon any persons on the vehicle to disembark for the purpose of submitting themselves to interrogation and inspection.\n<\/p>\n

<\/a>THE INFECTIOUS DISEASE (VENEREAL DISEASE) RULES<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

G.N. No. 245 of 1944\n<\/p>\n

    1. <\/b>These Rules may be cited as the Infectious Disease (Venereal Disease) Rules.\n<\/p>\n

    2.<\/b> For the purpose of these Rules the expression “venereal disease” means acute gonorrhoea, primary and secondary syphilis and soft chancre.\n<\/p>\n

    3.<\/b> Where, in accordance with any direction given by a Medical Officer of Health by virtue of the provisions of section 5 of the Act, any person who has been removed to a hospital or other place appointed for the reception of persons suffering from venereal disease, that person may be detained there for such time as the medical officer in charge of the hospital or other place may, at his discretion, order.
