<\/a>THE ILALA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL (ESTABLISHMENT OF SUB-COMMITTEES) REGULATIONS<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

G.N. No. 196 of 2001\n<\/p>\n

1.    Citation\n<\/p>\n

    These Regulations may be cited as the Ilala Municipal Council (Establishment of Sub-committees) Regulations and shall be deemed to have come into effect from the date of the Council’s resolution.\n<\/p>\n

2.    Definition\n<\/p>\n

    In these Regulations, unless the context requires otherwise–\n<\/p>\n

    “Act”<\/b> means the Local Government (Urban Authorities) Act function a1(msg) { myWindow=window.open(”,”,’width=134,height=71,left=400 ,scrollbars=1,top=400,screenX=400,screenY=100′);myWindow.document.write(msg);}*<\/a>;\n<\/p>\n

{mprestriction ids=”1,2,3″}<\/p>\n

    “Committee”<\/b> means any standing committee of the council established under the Act;\n<\/p>\n

    “Council”<\/b> means the Ilala Municipal Council;\n<\/p>\n

    “sub-committee”<\/b> means and includes any sub-committee established by the Council under the Act.\n<\/p>\n

3.    Establishment of sub-committees\n<\/p>\n

    For the purposes of fostering the performance of the Committee, there shall be established in each committee sub-committees, as specified in the schedule to these Regulations.\n<\/p>\n

4.    Composition and functions of sub-committees\n<\/p>\n

    The composition and functions of sub-committees shall be directed and regulated by the relevant Committees.\n<\/p>\n

RULES\n<\/p>\n

<\/a>THE URBAN COUNCILS (RATING) RULES<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

G.N. No. 87 of 1983\n<\/p>\n

1.    Citation\n<\/p>\n

    These Rules may be cited as the Urban Councils (Rating) Rules.\n<\/p>\n

2.    Notice of intention to make a rate\n<\/p>\n

    (1) An Urban Council shall, before making any rate under the provisions of section 15 of the Local Government (Finances) Act function a2(msg) { myWindow=window.open(”,”,’width=147,height=73,left=400 ,scrollbars=1,top=400,screenX=400,screenY=100′);myWindow.document.write(msg);}*<\/a> exhibit and keep exhibited for at least ten days, a notice of its intention to make such rate on the public notice-board near the outer door of the office of the Council and on the notice-board of every primary court in the area of the Council and shall also make such intention known in such manner as is customary in the area of the Council.\n<\/p>\n

    (2) Every such notice shall specify the proposed method of rating and the amount of the proposed rate.\n<\/p>\n

3.    Notice of making of a rate\n<\/p>\n

    (1) The notice of making of a rate required to be given under the provisions of section 16 of the Local Government (Finances) Act function a3(msg) { myWindow=window.open(”,”,’width=147,height=73,left=400 ,scrollbars=1,top=400,screenX=400,screenY=100′);myWindow.document.write(msg);}*<\/a>, shall be given by exhibiting and keeping exhibited for at least 10 days copies of the resolution to make the rate on the public notice-board near the outer door of the office of the Council and on the notice-board of every primary court in the area of the Council, and notice of the making of the rate may also be given in such manner as is customary in the area of the Council.\n<\/p>\n

    (2) Every such notice shall specify the proposed method of rating the amount of the proposed rate and the time and place at which the rate is to be payable.\n<\/p>\n

4.    Penalty\n<\/p>\n

    Any person who fails to pay the whole of any rate due from him by the due date shall be liable to pay in addition thereto a penalty equal to half the amount of the rate in respect of which he is in default, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or to both.
